Full Day Ahead

without comments

Today we worship at / with a church that has multiple congregations in multiple languages.  Perhaps a glimpse of Rev 7:9-10?

"After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”"

Riveting Discussion

without comments

Just got back from Youth Group where we discussed Peter Singer's article, The Singer Solution to World Poverty.  I'm biased, but I thought the discussion was fascinating.

I found it particularly interesting when we asserted that Jesus is more radical in his demands than Singer, but that we are okay with Jesus more so than Singer.  I wonder what this illustrates?

Finally, I still wonder how our responses would be altered if we were the marginalized rather than the wealthy in the world.

Thanks for all who contributed to the discussion!  Keep thinking!

Dispatches From The Front

without comments

This is how they describe this video series: “Often our view of God’s Kingdom is too small and limited to what we have experienced. Dispatches from the Front provides a rare glimpse into this work, highlighting the marvelous extent, diversity, and unity of Christ’s Kingdom in our world. The journal format of each episode underscores the daily unfolding of God’s activity on the “frontlines,” bringing viewers up-close with sights and sounds from distant corners of the Kingdom.”
